Where Do You Get Your Book News?
Do you want to keep up with the publishing industry news? If you do, there are many outlets to choose from! I have compiled a few of my favorites and maybe they will become yours too!
Keeping up with literary news outlets will allow you to stay up to date on current trends to better your own writing and literary journey.
Offering more than just the current news of literacy, The Guardian has fiction, poetry and non-fiction reviews. As well as offering insight on children and YA books, they regularly conduct interviews with authors! The news is endless on this site, and they have something for everybody.
I would say this site appeals to more of a younger crowd. It is vibrant and social media oriented, while giving you more than just the typical in your face news. Focus on your personal interests and browse their true crime reads or short stories. Even if you are not much of a reader you can get most of the news through their many genres of the Lit Hub Radio! How cool!
We cannot talk about news without The New York Times. They offer a book section wedged in between arts and style. While this site is definitely straight to the point, you know you will be getting an older demographic of news. However, It is always great to dabble in more than one site. Get a taste of the political side from the Times, then move on over to the lit hub for a taste of youth.
Find the news outlet for you! It is great to stay in touch with things outside your realm of expertise and expand your mind. Hopefully one of these sites spoke to you and you can get your news on. Tell us some of your favorites too!

Your Dreams Can Improve Your Writing
Dreams can be a source of raw inspiration to authors. You just have to find a way to unlock it. Here are some tips on how to use your dreams to their full advantage:
1.Keep a dream journal
By simply keeping a pad and paper next to your bed allows you to quickly jot down notes so you can remember in the morning. You don’t have to analyze the dream in the middle of the night, but write down the things that will spark your memory.
2. Take up daydreaming
Let your mind drift. Open your mind to other possibilities.
3. Go deeper into your dreams
Lucid dreaming is the ability to recognize that you are dreaming. Once you have the ability, you will be able to control your choices and behaviors in the dream world. Explore different outcomes and gain control over your dreams.
Now, I understand some people may say ‘I don’t remember my dreams’ or ‘I don’t dream at all’. My recommendation is to begin with day dreaming and see if you can take it further. There is a lot we are missing about dreams, and there are ways we can learn about the specific ones we are having- we must not forget that our minds are constantly working. As a writer you can use that to your advantage. Just don’t try too hard!

It’s the last month of the decade and the holidays are right around the corner! Spread some holiday cheer and share your excitement with a personalized card this holiday season.
There are so many tools on the internet to help you to create a beautiful and unique card- including Hallmark, Canva, and Tinyprints. These services allow you to either make printed or ecards:

With each site you can choose the layout of your card and then add a personalized message or picture. Allowing you to be very creative with your card. They also each have options for Christmas, Hanukkah, and New Years.
It’s always nice to take a step back from a regular text or social media message to create something fun to share with friends or family for the holidays.
