Reread Your Favorite Books!

Some people could not fathom picking up the same book twice, but I have a few reasons why you should!

They give us comfort.

Reread one of your favorite books to feel the same emotions you felt the first time. There is a reason why it’s your favorite, it felt good to read.

The movie adaptation is coming out.

I do this over and over again. I read the book but it is turning into a movie, so I need to brush up on the book to make sure they stick to the roots!

You’re older.

You read the book as a kid, or for required reading and you want to give it another go.

You missed it the first time.

You read a book thinking it would open your mind to something new but you didn’t quite get there…but you should read it again to explore new possibilities.

Family/Personal traditions.

Maybe you have or want to start a tradition where you read the same book every year or so to reflect a special time in your life.

You know all the facts.

It is great to reread a murder mystery when you already know who did it! Find out all those clues from a different perspective.

Why do you reread your favorite books? Let us know your must reads!

The More the Merrier – Reading Multiple Books at Once

There is no right way to read. While some have to focus on one book at a time, others can be reading two or three books at a time, and even throw in an audiobook or two..

But believe it or not, there are actually benefits to reading multiple books at once. Here are a few:

  1. Helps you get through your TBR pile faster.

Do you have a long list of books that you want to finish by the end of the year? Well pick up two at the same time and boom! You will be finished before you know it.

  1. You can balance your pleasure reading with your required reading.

If you are still in school or you have to read a lot for your job, reading a second book will still give you that pleasure in reading. You can pick your own must reads while also reading your have to’s.

  1. Balance emotional reads with lighthearted books.

Have you been afraid to pick up a tear jerker because you know how it will affect your emotions? Try balancing it out with a fun quirky read so that way it won’t put a damper on your mood.

  1. It allows you to enjoy books in many mediums.

Reading multiple books at once is not only fun, but it’s easy with all the different forms! Listen to an audiobook on your commute, take an ebook with you in the car or to an activity, and enjoy a physical book at home. The possibilities are endless!

  1. It allows you to take advantage of all the benefits of reading.

Life can have you down sometimes with work, bills to pay, and simply the everyday go to’s of life. Having a book that you can pick up to make you laugh when you’re sad, or take you to another world when you feel like having an adventure is a great way to get away for a little while. Read it all!

Happy Reading!
